Beach day!

Did you know that December 3 was Beach Day?

Well... not officially, just in the Pope house.

It was 72 degrees after all.

So, we picked up the kids from school and headed to the beach.

Yes, I love it that the beach is mere blocks away.

We played in the sand.

And enjoyed the warmth.

Pictures were taken of everyone.

We played on the rocks.

One of us braved the water.

Then he prepped himself for the Polar Bear Plunge by taking a dip.

I was worried that he'd be chilled, but the warm air dried him right off and he went on playing without missing a beat.

Chicago was kind to us on December 3.
