The kids had a day off school so we went to the planetarium. Too bad that guy we love always has to work while we're having so much fun.
The Little One playing with the giant dress-a-character.
Sweetie thought he should label himself with what he loves best!
Popping up to say hello.
Flying on the rocket simulator.
The Guy has to work Saturdays this quarter (boo!) so we've been trying to keep busy while he's gone Saturday afternoons. Often we just stay at home, but I needed to run some errands on the north side of Chicago so we made an adventure out of it.
A few weeks ago the kids and I were driving around and kind of lost when we saw a statue of Dorothy on the side of the road near a park. We couldn't stop then to investigate so I told them we'd come back.
After finishing our errands we returned to the park to explore.
Dorothy!
The Tin Man
Scarecrow!
Running through the leaves to find the next statue.
(The statues were scattered all over the park so we got to run around looking for them.)
The Cowardly Lion
And a hill was found!
A HILL!
We were so excited!
We all rolled down it. Yes, me too!
We all ran down it. Yes, me too!
And up and down and up and down.
We loved it!
Then we finally went to the playground.
It was one of those cool wooden castle ones with lots of places to hide and peek through.
Everyone was happy.
It was good to get out.
Too bad that Guy had to miss it.
We'll take him another time.
