Spring Break 2012

We decided to get out of the city for Spring break. We headed up to Wisconsin and rented a cottage on the Wisconsin river.

The first order of business was to do some fishing.
The Guy got the pole ready.
We had bought some minnows (who quickly became The Little One's favorite things).
We made Sweetie catch his minnow to put on his hook.
 Oops! He lost it.
 They finally got it hooked.
 Teaching how to cast.
 Waiting.
 They caught a leaf!
Woof-woof got in on the fishing lessons too.
The Little One and her best friends. We didn't ever tell her that Sweetie ate half of one.
The Little One enjoyed finding acorn tops to play with.
We spent a lot of time reading on the hammock.
It was warm enough to dabble in the water a bit.
 Sweetie loved fishing.
The Little One has this funny habit of holding onto her hair when it's windy. It's like she thinks her hair is going to fall off.
We had a campfire, made tinfoil dinners(which turned out amazing), and roasted marshmallows.
We took a day trip to Devil's lake. It was really beautiful.
They did some more fishing. They even got a nibble. Had some kids had more patience they might have caught something...
We had a lovely picnic lunch at the lake.
The cottage had a hot tub that we enjoyed playing in.
On our last day it was raining, so the kids built a blanket fort.
We had a great time relaxing and enjoying our break.

That trip looked rather awesome. Makes me want to fish and that's not a feeling I have often.

I'm so glad you guys got to do that.
