An unforgettable evening

Last night we went to some friend's (from our ward) house for dinner.  Dinner was great.  Afterward things went downhill.

While we were eating dessert Sweetie was balancing with his arms between their chair and couch.  He started swinging his legs and the next thing I knew, he had slipped and landed on the ground on his face.  He sat up with his hands on his mouth and I could see the blood streaming down his neck.  I thought we had lost teeth and were going to be in the ER all night with stitches.  After some quick first aid, a bag of frozen corn, and multiple blood soaked paper towels we finally got the bleeding under control.  Somehow in the middle of it I remembered that a med student from our ward lived five stories above where we were so we had our friends call him to have him come down.

We didn't end up going to the ER, but Sweetie is going to have a fat lip for a few days.  His front teeth cut up his lip pretty bad.  It's a bit hard to tell, but his front teeth went completely through his lip, but since the cuts are all just in the pink part of his lip they don't do stitches there(or that's what we were told and since our doctor never called us back last night it's what we're going with....)
The bag of corn that helped stop bleeding and start a lot of jokes: if you get hungry tonight, just gnaw a hole in that bag . . . .  don't let the mice get into your room tonight . . . corn and blood soup . . . .

And that fat lip was the brunt of some jokes too:  it will be so easy for the girls to kiss you tomorrow, your lip is sticking out so far . . . don't let the birds perch on your roost . . .  the birds can perch on your roost and get a good meal too . . .

Lest you think our craziness of the evening was just that, lets just say that the evening at our friends house also included throw-up(theirs), cleaning Sweeties blood off their brand-new carpet, another head bashing(mine), and plenty of laughter over a crazy evening.

I'm not sure they'll ever invite us over again!
