Quintessential Chicago

As you know, Spicy came into town to visit.  We decided to show him what Chicago is all about.

We HAD to root for the south side team!  Go White Sox!

 Woof-woof has become the scooter extraordinaire.

 You're probably wondering what the Booth school lawn has to do with quintessential Chicago.  

We were sitting/playing on the lawn listening to a carillon concert at Rockefeller Chapel.

 We went swimming in Lake Michigan(sans older kids).

I love this beach because of its great views of  the city and the lake.

 We walked the Magnificent Mile(we started at Grant Park and Buckingham fountain).

 Spicy tried locking Sweetie up.

 We walked past the face fountains(they occasionally spit).  

 We looked at the bean.  (I mean Cloud Gate.)

 We took a crazy photo in the bean(I tried so hard not to cut anyone out). 

 We played football in a park(okay, this isn't Chicago specific).

 We ate deep dish pizza.

 Some of us don't like deep dish pizza, so we ate thin crust pizza.

 We tried out a concert in the park.

 The seats were too restrictive with kids, so we moved to the grass.

 The grass was great.  We got to watch this turn from day to night.  I loved it.

 Spicy, Sweetie, Mary(a friend of the boys from BYU who is now doing an Econ PhD at Chicago), Woof-woof, and N(who still needs a blog name).

We also talked way too much Econ, played Rook, played Settlers of Catan, talked a little bit about girls, slept in(those boys can really sleep when they want to), fought(just a little bit), and had TONS OF FUN!

Thanks for coming Spicy.  We loved it.
