July 6 - Ghent, Belgium

We left Paris mid-morning and headed for Ghent, Belgium.  Ghent is the location of the second conference that The Guy is attending.  We thought the drive was supposed to be five hours, but it only ended up being three.  Had we known that before we would have either headed back into the Louvre or up to Monet's home in Giverny.  But we didn't do either of those . . . someday.

We traded in our budget hotel for a conference deal.  Our room overlooks this castle.
And this lovely skyline(our room is in the very top tower of the building so we have a four-way view).
We wandered around Ghent for a little while.
Then we got some of these lovely, delicious waffles.
Then The Guy headed off to register for his conference and we were done for the day.
