Over the second half of our Spring Break we spent the week with The Guy's older brother and his family. My wonderful sister-in-law H introduced me to these wonderful cookies. I came home and immediately made a batch. And as you can see they are so delicious I couldn't even wait to take the picture before eating one. I hope you enjoy!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 cups butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
3 cups instant oatmeal
5-6 cups of combination of milk chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, toffee bits
Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla.
In another bowl sift together dry ingredients.
Gradually add dry ingredients into cream mixture and mix well.
Then add oatmeal and chocolate chip mixture at the same time.
Place on greased cookie sheet (if using toffee bits) and bake 12-14 minutes at 350°.
Let sit on cookie sheet for a few minutes before moving to cooling rack.
After cooled, store in immediately in airtight container to keep fresh.
And the camera didn't come out during the second half of the week, so while it was a fun weekend with cousins, easter eggs, and fighting little girls, I don't have anything to document it. (Our youngest girls have it out for each other! Hopefully one of these days they'll like each other....) We had a great trip with our VA family and we're happily awaiting our next DC trip to see you!
